Finding Cheraw Ancestors
Since Cheraw is one of South Carolina's oldest towns, many visitors come to Cheraw to trace their family roots and visit the “ancestral home.” Unfortunately, General Sherman's troops burned the Chesterfield County Courthouse so research can be challenging.
