Chesterfield General Hospital, a fully accredited, 59 bed community hospital, provides a full range of both primary and specialty care services. These include: a 24 hour physician staffed emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgery, ICU, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, state of the art diagnostic technology, obstetrical/nursery services, and 7 skilled nursing beds.
Nineteen physicians provide family and specialized care. Should the need arise, there are three nursing homes in Cheraw. Major medical centers are in nearby Florence, Charlotte and Columbia. Four dentists serve Cheraw. Cheraw has an award winning volunteer Rescue Squad. Sandhills Ambulance Service provides convalescent transport services.
