Sports & Activities Camps
The Recreation Division provides activities in many areas of leisure interest. The classes, leagues, and special events are provided to served the community for the pleasure of participation in enjoyable and wholesome activities. You are invited to join us in your leisure pursuits. Please let us know if you would like to see new activities initiated by the Recreation Division.
Nature Camp Join us at the Cheraw State Park for fun and outdoor environmental activities. Ages 7-13. Camp leader is Zenda Rushing.
Baseball Camp Great place for any young baseball player, ages 7-14, who is looking to improve his skills. Fees range from $25-$40 city; $37.50-$60 county. Fee includes t-shirt. Camp held on Cheraw High baseball field. Led by Coach David Byrd.
Dixie Youth Tournament Cheraw hosts Dixie Youth Tournament at Arrowhead Park. Winners will advance to district tournament.
Soccer Camp Led by Coach Sonny Usher and Cheraw High soccer players, the camp is designed for boys and girls ages 7-12 interested in learning the basics of soccer. Arrowhead Park. Fee: $40 city; $60 county (includes a t-shirt).
Golf Camp Learn the fundamentals of golf. Conducted at the Cheraw State Park Golf Course by golf pro David Hyduke & staff. Boys and girls ages 10 -17. Fee: $20 city; $30 county.
Summer Adventure Camp This full day summer camp is held at Cheraw Intermediate School beginning in June and runs for 8 weeks, 8:30 a.m - 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday (closed July 4th). Ages: 4-9 yrs. old. Cost for 8 week camp: $25 per week city residents; $50 per week county residents. Each week has a fun theme with lots of crafts, music, games, storytime, walking trips through town, group games, and outdoor playground activities.
Summer Gymnastics Camp Five exciting weeks of gymnastics camp. Participants may attend one or more of the camps. Each camp will run Monday through Thursday. Camp for ages 6 years old and up will be 2 hours each day and the camps for ages 3, 4 and 5 will be one hour. One Hour Camp: $30 for city; $45 for county residents. Two Hour Camp: $40 for city; $60 for county.
